Narrabri Hospital
NSW Health requested a 4 star Healthcare rating for one of their facilities in Narrabri. The rating was only at pilot during the design of the facility and therefore the hospital could not be certified officially. Ashburner Francis advised on the project and designed the associated mechanical and electrical services. We submitted a report for the mechanical and electrical services only (Henrich Hertz Option) for the inclusion in the overall Green Star documentation.
Network House Extension
Network House is aiming to achieve a 4 star Green Star Office Design v2 Extension rating. The extension is an additional 3 floors to a 4 storey building. As the ESD consultant, Ashburner Francis advised the design team on the Green Star requirements and provided a complete Green Star submission (Albert Einstein Option) – which is currently being assessed. Only the enxtension was analysed.
General ESD Iniatives
Russell Street, South Brisbane
Russell Street in South Brisbane was an extension and refurbishment of an existing office building. The design for this building was based on Green Star principles to allow for an ecologically sustainable design. Extensive energy analysis was used to provide advice on the shading and glazing type.
AICHS, Annerley Road
The new AICHS building on Annerley Road, Woolloongabba, is a two-storey community health centre. The design of this building was based on Green Star principles. Energy analysis was used to determine the effect shading and different glazing types would have on the air conditioning load.
