It provides for user friendly input of dataBEAVER is a WINDOWS environment for the APEC ESPII Building Energy Estimation Program. It provides for user friendly input of data, processing and viewing of the results. The program estimates the energy consumption of a building over a given period of time taking into account the site location, the building structure and the type of building services installed to maintain the desired environmental conditions. It enables a designer to investigate alternatives and make energy comparisons quickly and effectively for a very wide range of building configurations and air conditioning systems using actual measured climatic data.
Data input is interactive (mouse driven) via WINDOWS dialogue boxes, selection lists drop down lists and entry fields on a series of screens running through general Project information to individual space data and for all the building services plant, capacities, operating schedules, etc. Buttons on the toolbar and special keys allow the user to copy individual values, columns of data or complete screens from space to space or system to system.
Context sensitive help guides the user through all the data entry fields.
Graphical displays are provided for schedules, adjacent shading, external walls and roofs, air handling and primary plant and these provide a convenient visual check for the user as the data is being entered.
Provision is also available to directly import data from the ACADS-BSG A.C. Load Estimation Program CAMEL and most of the ALOADS input screen have been deliberately made to look similar to the CAMEL screens
Camel
The computer program CAMEL is one of the leading air conditioning load estimation programs available. It calculates the design heating and cooling loads and associated psychrometrics for air conditioning plant in buildings. The calculations are based on the AIRAH/IHRACE Application Manual DA9 "Air Conditioning Systems, Load Estimation & Psychrometrics" which incorporates the cooling load estimation techniques and data developed by the Carrier International Corporation with considerable extensions and refinements to these methods and data, developed by ACADS-BSG. It operates in the Southern and Northern Hemisphere.
The program is an extremely comprehensive analysis program that has been licensed through ACADS-BSG by well over 250 organisations throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
Building Energy Rating Scheme - Pro
The BERS (Building Energy Rating Scheme) computer program is a powerful tool that is used to simulate and analyse the thermal performance of Australian houses in climates ranging from Alpine to tropical. BERS is a Home Energy Rating Scheme that can be used to assign a star rating to a house within a particular climate type.
The user interface of the program is graphics based. Information about the building, the climate type and the conditions of use is selected from pictures displayed on the screen. Floor plans can be imported and traced with a mouse. This eliminates the need for time consuming data entry of dimensions, orientations, adjacent zones etc. making data entry fast and accurate. Calculated data is displayed in graphic form as well as being written to files.
TAS Building Simulation Software
TAS is a complete design tool for dynamic thermal simulation of a building which enables accurate assessment and optimisation of a building's energy, comfort and environmental performance. TAS also includes limited CFD capabilities.
TAS uses 3D graphics based geometry to perform simulations of a building with integrated natural and forced air flow. This software works with new and existing buildings, and allows designers to compare and analyse heating various heating and cooling options.
